Your information

Privacy statement.

How we handle your information when you visit this website or start a conversation with Blackthread.

Last updated

Draft for review. Our service-provider arrangements and retention approach are being confirmed before publication.

Who we are

Blackthread Technologies Ltd is responsible for the personal information covered by this statement (the data controller).

Blackthread Technologies Ltd
7 St John's Rd, London SW11 1QN
Company number 15835298

Email: hello@blackthread.com.

This statement covers our website and initial enquiries. Separate notices or agreements may apply to products, research or work we undertake together.

Information we handle

When you enquire, you provide your name, email address, optional organisation and message. We also receive information you include in any follow-up correspondence. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or other people’s details unless necessary.

Our form prepares an email in your own email app. The information you enter is not submitted to our server by the form. We receive it when you choose to send the email. Your email provider also handles that message under its own terms.

Website requests include technical information such as your IP address, the page requested and browser information. Hosting infrastructure may record this information in access, error and security logs.

Providing enquiry details is voluntary. We need a way to contact you and enough information about your enquiry to respond.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to understand your request, reply and discuss potential work together. Our proposed lawful basis is legitimate interests: handling business enquiries and developing relevant professional relationships.

Technical information supports website operation, troubleshooting and protection against abuse. Our proposed legitimate interest is keeping this service reliable and secure.

The website does not send enquiry content to an AI model, enrol you in a mailing list or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Service providers and overseas processing

Website hosting and business email providers handle information needed to deliver the website and our correspondence.

Before this draft is published, we will confirm the providers, where they process information and any applicable UK international-transfer arrangements. Contact us for details of the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

Links to other websites, including Customer of Choice, take you to services with their own privacy information.

The “Learn more with your AI” links share the displayed prompt and company description with your chosen AI service when you follow a link. They do not include your enquiry-form details. Your use of that service is subject to its own privacy terms.

How long we keep information

Our proposed approach is to keep correspondence for the time needed to resolve your enquiry and manage any resulting relationship. Retention decisions will take account of whether discussions remain active, records needed for agreed work, and applicable legal or dispute-related requirements.

The retention periods for mailbox records, backups and hosting logs are being confirmed with our service providers.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not currently use analytics tools, advertising pixels or cookies set by the application. Fonts and brand images are served with the website. The motion preference is held only for the current page visit, without browser storage.

We will review this statement if we introduce additional tools that collect visitor information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion or limits on its use. Portability rights apply in certain cases. These rights are subject to the conditions in data protection law.

Your right to object: you can object to use of your information based on legitimate interests, for reasons relating to your particular situation.

To make a request, email hello@blackthread.com. We may need to check your identity before disclosing or changing personal information.

Contact and complaints

For privacy questions or concerns, contact hello@blackthread.com or write to our address above.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not need to contact us first.
